A number of years ago a large number of 7” vinyl singles, some in picture sleeves, some in label logo bags were boxed up and put into storage. The package then subsequently travelled in a house move from one end of the country to the other.
When the box was opened it had succumbed to damp and mould growth, the sleeves and records had fused together with the sleeves being beyond recovery. To try and rescue the records they were submerged in water with a mild cleaning solution for 24 hours after which the mush of paper sleeves and labels was carefully removed. A large number of the labels on the records had partially come off and inks had faded and run. This is a selection of the more graphically interesting ones which were photographed and post processed to create this series.
